Although much of Microsoft Build is centred around helping developers, there’s much for you an me as well, like avatars in Teams! Well, read on..
Microsoft MVPs get early access to the full list of topics from Microsoft Build so we can review all of the topics and then share back to the community with some fresh perspectives right after the public release date has passed.
So here’s my choice of interesting topics, hot off the press, in case you decide to check them out at https://build.microsoft.com/en-US/home or https://news.microsoft.com/source
- OpenAI Plugins – LOTS of plugins are expected for OpenAI.
- Microsoft Fabric – There’s no presentation for this but it was just announced at Build. Basically, Fabric is the ‘new data lake’ that will help normalize your data and make it compatible with openAI.
- OpenAI Free Training – seems the presentation on this subject has been cancelled but check out the free training available on Microsoft’s web site.
- Updates to the Azure Semantic Kernel with OpenAI – if you’ve heard of ‘auto-GPT’ you may be familiar with some of the research going on to make OpenAI better at ‘goal seeking’. Semantic Kernel is a way for developers to gain access into those features.
- Copilot for M365 now integrated into Edge – Now you can ask questions about discussions happening in Teams or other M365 apps simply by typing in the chat box in Edge. eg “what’s happening with any activities related to Contoso?”
- Extending CoPilot with custom apps
- Using Syntex for intelligent document processing.
- Avatars are now available in Teams!
- Microsoft Mesh – the virtual world as brought to you by Microsoft.
- Power Pages and Power ‘everything’ – excellent list of speakers discussing all things ‘power’
- Managing External Identities with Entra – think B2B access into your Azure tenants
